After the Milan draw to Lazio in the San Siro, Massimiliano Allegri spoke to Sky Sports. He said:
“It was a bad moment in the match, we stopped paying attention after our goal. The team played a great first half, and after the Kaka goal, we had many chances we should have taken advantage of, and we were soon punished for missing these chances. Maybe after the tying goal, we began to attack once more with dangerous counter attacks. Our central defenders did well against Miroslav Klose and Sergio Floccari.”
Allegri then continued, “What’s the answer? Working hard, there are many games. We are very far from third place, we have to climb the table and try for a victory. Playing like a team will surely improve our results.
When questioned on Mario Balotelli, whom he subbed out last game for a poor performance, he replied, “Balotelli? Tonight he had a good game.” He later praised goal scorer and new signing Ricardo Kaka, “Kaka is important and is a champion…He sets an example with hard work and great training.”
He praised Nigel De Jong’s performance, and praised Riccardo Montolivo’s game as well.
Allegri claims that he took off hard nosed midfielder Sulley Muntari only because he received a yellow card. He praised Muntari for his experience, and then said he felt bad by taking him off.
Allegri stated that they must pull themselves back to the Europa League zone, as it is the closest, and then try to pull to the Champions League zone.
