Both Milan and Roma have contacted the agent of the 31 year old attacking midfielder from Spain in hopes of gaining his signature before the season begins.
According to Sky Sports, both Milan and Roma are heavily linked to the Spaniard in hopes of adding a quality piece to their midfield. Both coaches Montella and Spalletti are very high on the Fiorentina man and know he would be a great addition. Having already held discussions with Valero’s agent Alejandro Camano, it seems the strategy for both clubs is to negotiate personal terms with the player first and then find an agreement with the Viola regarding a transfer fee.
It is interesting to note that Valero played under Montella throughout his entire tenure with the club. A move to Milan would reunite the two and add plenty of quality to a somewhat dull midfield core. A move to Roma on the other hand would also be an interesting prospect. Having lost Miralem Pjanic to Juventus earlier this summer, the capital club is eager to add another midfielder that can bring some flair to the squad.
Over his three seasons with Fiorentina, Borja Valero has scored 13 goals in 134 appearances.
