AC Milan are working on adding out-of-favour Everton forward Gerard Deulofeu to their squad this month.
The Rossoneri, as they work to finalize the sale of the club to Sino-Europe Sports, are expected by many to have a low-budget mercato this month. Manager Vincenzo Montella certainly could use a few pieces to bolster his club as they aim to secure a return to Europe for next season. One of those pieces needed is in the attacking department, and Milan are looking towards Everton for winger Gerard Deulofeu to fill that void.
On Friday, reports surfaced about a possible move to Milan for the Spanish international in the form of a loan deal. Deulofeu was left off Ronald Koeman’s call-up list for Everton’s 2-2 draw with Hull City, fueling belief in rumors about his possible departure. Now, with the 22-year old gaining interest from Italy and uncertainty surrounding his place with the Toffees, the Rossoneri are working towards a deal to bring the Barcelona youth product over for the final six-months of the season.
Calciomercato.com claims that Sino-Europe Sports have given the “green light” on a move, and Gianluca Di Marzio confirms that Milan wishes to bring Deulofeu in on loan with the intent to make the move permanent in the summer.
Deulofeu has made 11 Premier League appearances for Everton this season, but has failed to shine (0 goals and 0 assists). Despite all, Montella would likely welcome the Spaniard who could greatly benefit from the same guidance fellow countryman Suso has thrived off under the Italian coach.
