The Rossoneri are looking to add Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu on loan before the end of January, but Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez remains on the radar.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan’s new directors are still looking at “Papu” Gomez as an alternative to the long-term wing position in the 4-3-3 Montella deploys.
Gomez, who has 5 goals and 4 assists so far this year on an impressive Atalanta squad, could be leaving in January but it is more likely a departure will occur in the summer mercato.
Di Marzio added that Atalanta do not wish to sell the player this month, as he will be key in the 2nd half of their season in possibly securing Europa league.
It’s clear Montella and Milan are keen on bolstering their attack before the window closes. Whether or not a new winger arrives this months remains to be seen.
