Milan Chief Executive Officer Marco Fassone believes that the Milan team reflects the attitude of Manager Gennaro Gattuso.
Il Diavolo have turned their season around as the 3-2 victory over Chievo extended their unbeaten run to 10 Serie A games and made it clear that the Rossoneri want Champions League football.
Fassone spoke to Sky Sport Italia and praised the Milan team and Gattuso.
“This Milan side has changed and it’s down to Gattuso, but despite the difficulties, the team is playing great football.
“The squad has absorbed the characteristics of its Coach and this means we can see the game with a different sentiment”.
Rumours have circled that Gattuso, who took over from Vincenzo Montella in November after the latter was fired, will be made Milan’s long-term manager during the upcoming international break. ‘Rino’ was previously the Manager of the Milan Primavera.
“We have no doubts on Rino, as he proved what he needed to. There is a rapport of such transparency that we’ll find time to sit down and talk about it”.
The rescheduled Derby della Madonnina has been moved to April 4 with a 17.30 local time kick-off but Fassone was angry over the decision.
“We did everything possible, offering April 25 or May 1 as alternatives where we could’ve taken up an afternoon slot, but the rules and red tape give Inter the opportunity to say no and they didn’t accept those ideas.
“I hope the fans will respond in the right way and come to the stadium. We want to see the right atmosphere for this Milan-Inter.
“The motivation given by Inter was that they have a complicated game on April 29 against Juventus. It was more comfortable for them to play on April 4. I don’t want to cause controversy as they made their choice already”.
