The Rossoneri have decided to go forward with Gennaro Gattuso and remove his ‘interim’ status.
Milan and Gattuso will go forward together, reports suggest. Corriere dello Sport published an article writing the deal will be finalized next week during the international break.
Gattuso, very much like Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri did not want to distract his players by contract talks while the league was ongoing and preferred to wait until the break.
The new contract will be a 2-year deal until 2020 and will be a salary of €2 million net per season. Currently, Gattuso makes only €120,000, making him the lowest paid coach in Serie A.
“Regarding my contract there aren’t any problem’s,” Gattuso told journalists in the press room on Saturday. “I don’t understand the importance around the contract. I have to keep working, today it isn’t a priority.
“Today the priority is to do well and keep breathing the same air we did in London on Thursday, Milan needs to stay on those big stages like at the Emirates.
“We must not give an millimeter. Then afterwards we’ll see, we’re only thinking about improving.”
