Milan’s desire to continue with their current focus on youth sees the club expand their horizons beyond Italy.
New sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli has been working hard to scout potential talent for the Rossoneri in Italy and across Europe. As the January Transfer Window creeps closer, the new owners look to continue carrying on with the youth model for the future.
According to Fabrizio Romano, two players have become of interest to Mirabelli: Riechedly Bazoer of Ajax and Ricardo Rodriguez of Wolfsburg.
Rodriguez, a Swiss international, is considered a shoe in for Milan with Marco Fassone believing he will suit Vincenzo Montella’s style. He has been scouted by Inter and Napoli in the past and may see a bidding war emerge for his talents, as he is valued at 20-25 million euros. Additionally, the twenty-year old Bazoer is also considered a brilliant young midfield target and has also been valued in the 20 million euro range.
The sale of the club by Silvio Berlusconi to the new Chinese owners is expected to be completed in the next month or so. Currently, Montella has his youthful side holding onto third place, trailing only league leaders Juventus and Roma. With that being said, supporters of the red and black wish to see the club address the needs in order to secure a top three finish.
