Milan coach Vincenzo Montella discussed the rossoneri‘s hard fought 2-1 victory over Fiorentina and dedicated the win to Berlusconi.

Post-match, Vincenzo Montella discussed the match with Sky Sports:

“I want say thank you to President Berlusconi. This victory is dedicated to him even though I do not know if this will be his last game as Chairman. These are three important points. In the first half we created more and also could have come close to scoring more. In the second half Fiorentina held the ball possession, and gave us little room, but I cannot remember a shot on goal. I think it’s a precious victory.”

On the importance of Bacca and finding form:
“Bacca played a great game. I liked that he was in the game, the second goal came thanks to his important pressure.”

Making peace with Berlusconi:
“There are so many phone calls, many arguments and many positive discussions. I can only learn from people who are much more successful than I am. For my part, there is total humility, but it is clear that the choices are up to me.”

Sosa and Pašalic are starting to play well:
“I want to congratulate these guys, who haven’t played much. I would like to emphasise that today we had five players out, injured. For me, as a coach, the greatest satisfaction for this year is to move forward even without these key players.”

On the new owners:
“I have not talked to anyone, I have not been contacted by anyone and I think it is better that way. It would be smart for the new owners to take a step back and take stock of everything.”
