AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella spoke to Premium Sport after his Rossoneri defeated Juventus 1-0 in front of a sold out San Siro.

Montella:

“We have the right to celebrate this win but from tomorrow on, we will have to shift our attention to our upcoming game.”

“He is a wonderkid. Today, he did lose some possession but when you beat Juventus without conceding a goal and you score a goal like that, congratulations. He still needs to grow in peace.”

Montella on the performance this match:

“We could have done better in some cases, but the squad’s spirit is great. Even players who do not play as much still come in and fight like lions.”

The former Fiorentina boss on the offside goal call by the referee:

“I couldn’t see anything. It was a difficult call. It was up to the referees to decide.”

Montella’s closing thoughts:

“Our season starts now and so our most important game is our upcoming one against Genoa. I got emotional when I saw my players celebrate under the Curva Sud, it reminded me of when I was young. Starting tomorrow, we must prepare for our next game.”
