A stunning result for the Rossoneri at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara as with nine men they won 1-0 with a late goal by Mario Pasalic in the 89th minute.
An incredible result given the circumstances and heroic performances from Donnarumma and Deulofeu in the second half help achieved a crucial win for Milan.
Produced a stunning save when the scores were level and Bologna were knocking on the door after being reduced to nine men. A save like that at that stage of the game was huge and pushed the team to the win in the end. Heroic.
Struggled in the first half but his want to win the game was always there as the game went on. Stood up for his players when key decisions were going against them and stood up to shocking refereeing in the game. It’s easy to lose your discipline as captain when everything is going against you, not for Abate he stepped up here and kept his team-mates focused.
Pure stupidity led him to being sent off on the 37th minute, after a bright start to the season the former Parma defender has struggled as of late and tonight picked up his third red card of the season when he did not need to get involved in the play.
Went off injured after 30 mins with a hamstring injury, the Italian defender was having a good game at the back before being replaced by Zapata.
A good game on his Serie A debut for the Argentine, the left-back dealt with everything put in front of him and proved a lot of doubters wrong. Likely to keep his place for the next game and built on his debut for the club.
Didn’t do anything wrong in his return to the starting line-up, sacrificed at half-time to bring in another defender when many believe he should have stayed on the pitch.
Decent game up until his sending off on the hour mark. Very unfortunate to pick up two yellow cards within ten minutes in the game but at the same time you need to be disciplined in these situations.
A great game from the Croatian as he scored the winning goal to give Milan the all important victory. His work-rate was incredible for over 95 minutes, especially towards the end where he ran the field to get on the end of Deulofeu’s cross and win the game for the Rossonerri. Has been on the end of some harsh criticism from the fans, but look how important his goals have been for the club this season and how crucial this goal could be come end of the season.
A good game by the Spandiard considering the multiple roles he covered throughout the game after the sending offs. His link-up with Deulofeu is improving game by game and centrally he looked great when on the ball.
Before the sending off of his team-mate Paletta, the Colombian yet again was struggling with his link up play with his team-mates. Once down to 10 men, he lost any service he would have received for the rest of the game. Replaced after the hour mark as the game became a game not suited for his qualities.
Deulofeu (8.5) MOTM
Montella asked to see more from this Spaniard in this game after average performances in his last few games and he defiantly stepped up tonight with an incredible second half upfront all on his own. His attacking runs caused Bologna problems all evening and he finally got his reward for his incredible piece of skill to beat couple of defenders and square it for Palasic to tap it in. Heroic stuff!
Looked shaky when he came on late into the first half but settled alongside Gomez in the second half and dominated the battle in the air when the crosses came in.
Produced a couple of last ditch tackles in the penalty area to deny Destro in the penalty area after coming on. An assured performance that’s bound to give the player confidence into the game against Lazio.
A warrior type performance when he came onto the pitch to replace Bacca after the hour mark. Went down with a knee injury but continued to battle on till the end. Work-rate was incredible.
