Claims are being made that AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi was close to selling club striker Mario Balotelli to an anonymous English team, however after a poor world cup performance by the Azzurri striker, the deal was refused. The Azzurri suffered in the goal scoring department only netting twice in three games, one of those goals belonging to Mario Balotelli.
“Other than Italy, I lost during the World Cup, I was about to sell Balotelli to an English team for several millions. But after this World Cup who will buy him any more?”
Raiola, Mario Balotelli’s agent claims the Italian was “sad and desperate” after being humiliated in the Italian media.
Mario Balotelli found the back of the net 28 times in 54 appearances for Milan. Silvio Berlusconi noted that their top striker is surely “replaceable.”
