Monto-out? The latest reports point towards an exclusion due to injury.

Montolivo’s fitness took another step back and with just days to go until the start of the European Championship, his chances of being dropped are more than likely.

It’s not looking good for the Milan and Italy midfielder, Riccardo Montolivo, who is at risk to skip the tournament in France. The player who’s already been suffering through a calf injury he sustained against Juve in the Coppa Italia finale, re-injured himself in the training session prior to Italy vs Scotland in Malta.

Montolivo could have strained his other calf, reports Gazzetta dello Sport during the warmups with his teammates.
The Italy man broke his leg on the eve of the World Cup in 2014 against Ireland in a friendly in London. The severity of the current injury is unknown at the moment, however with time not being on his side, it could spell the end of his hopes for glory in France.
The Azzurri take on Finland next Monday (June 6th) in Verona as the final tuneup prior to taking on Belgium in the group stage of Euro 2016.
