Three clubs with three different situations continue to track the Swede.
Chelsea and Napoli have been talking all summer about Kalidou Koulibaly, but it seems now they are both interested in landing Victor Lindelof of Benfica.
According to SportItalia’s mercato expert Alfredo Pedulla, Lindelof wouldn’t exactly be a Koulibaly replacement.
Pedulla said on his blog: “Chelsea wants Koulibaly but Napoli’s not giving up. The Partenopei are following Maksimovic closely but they are also studying the profile of 22-year-old Victor Lindelof.
Benfica has put a €30 million release clause on the defender, and the player says that he’s fine with staying in Portugal.
For Chelsea, he’s the alternative to Koulibaly who is much more expensive than €30 million.
However, in the last few days Inter has grown fond of Lindelof but it’s a more difficult deal. They have to offload Ranocchia first, and Garay is still the preferred alternative.
This does not mean that Jeison Murillo will automatically be sold, but it’s clear in the Nerazzurri’s agenda that Lindelof is there.
