Napoli look to close the transfer of Amadou Diawara in the next few days while making new contacts for young defender, Jeremy Toljan, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The partenopei’s Nicolao Dumitru and Alberto Grassi look to be on their way out on loan.
The azzurri are confident they could seal the deal for Diawara within the next 48 hours. This confidence stems from Napoli and Bologna agreeing to a 15 million euro transfer fee with 1 million in bonuses, according to Di Marzio.
Napoli will offer the player a 5-year contract, which obviously shows the player’s importance to the club’s future. Both sides are working on a permanent transfer, but Diawara may still arrive on loan with an obligation to buy.
There are details that still need to be figured out in the deal such as sponsorship and agent fees. However, this is the closest the player has ever been to joining Napoli.
Di Marzio also reported that Napoli have contacted Hoffenheim about defender, Jeremy Toljan. Napoli like Toljan for his ability to play both right-back and left-back. They will need someone to fill in for Faouzi Ghoulam when he goes to play for Algeria in the African Cup of Nations.
Toljan is currently playing in the 2016 Rio Olympics with Germany.
However, with arrivals come departures.
Di Marzio reports that Dumitru will first renew his contract with Napoli and most likely go to Spezia on loan.
Alberto Grassi is also a young player who will most likely go on loan. Chievo and Sampdoria are showing interest in the Italian midfielder. However, Pescara are also showing interest. Napoli opens its season away to Pescara on Sunday. After the match, Napoli will discuss a potential deal for Grassi to join Pescara on loan.
Napoli are working to improve their squad as they look to their season opener.
