Napoli are continuing to try and find a deal with Sassuolo for Matteo Politano, and are also looking to sign Sampdoria superstar Lucas Torreira in the summer.
Napoli’s search for attacking reinforcement is continuing after Simone Verdi rejected the azzurri last week, and the most recent player on their radar is Matteo Politano of Sassuolo.
Despite Sassuolo saying ‘no’ to Napoli, who have already approached the Modena based club for the Italian’s services, this morning owner Aurelio De Laurentiis met with neroverdi Sporting Director Giovanni Carnevali about a potential transfer.
However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, if Napoli are unable to persuade Sassuolo to sell Politano, they instead are already looking at signing Sampdoria’s Gianluca Caprari.
In addition to trying to close deals for players in this busy winter mercato, the partenopei are also planning for the summer.
Napoli’s main target for June is Lucas Torreira of Sampdoria should one of Jorginho and Amadou Diawara decide to leave. The Uruguayan has been outstanding for Sampdoria this season and has already been linked with moves to Juventus, Inter and Atletico Madrid.
The former Pescara controller has a release clause of only 25 million and Napoli are willing to pay the full price for his services, however it is likely that the Genoa-based outfit will raise the release clause before the end of the season in attempt to cash in on him.
