Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has tentatively put forward his interest in signing Lazio figurehead Antonio Candreva.
Candreva, currently in Brazil, has most recently been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and confirmed his interest in joining the French outfit.
The Corriere dello Sport reports a recent press statement from De Laurentiis:
“I like him a lot but I don’t think Lotito [Lazio owner] will let him go. If he does make him available, we are there, ready.”
Until very recently Candreva was in a part ownership deal with Udinese but now belongs fully to Lazio.
Pundits predict that even a mediocre performance at the World Cup will send players’ prices rocketing and so De Laurentiis, if the interest is genuine, may be acting soon to secure the midfielder’s services.
