With Pepe Reina heading to AC Milan, the Partenopei are already on the lookout for their next starter in goal.
Adios Reina and hello Leno? Or Meret? Napoli are beginning their search for their next keeper and they are dreaming big, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Friulian Alex Meret is the top candidate, the 20-year-old owned by Udinese currently playing on loan at SPAL.
“I know that I have to get better,” Meret told Corriere. “I don’t know whether to say or not that I’m ready for a big club. But the news and rumors are out there. I’m very happy to be taken into consideration, especially from a club so important. But for today, I only have SPAL on my mind.”
Meanwhile, in Germany Bernd Leno said a few days ago he is “honored to be courted by Napoli.”
“The Azzurri tried to sign me in the summer, but Bayer Leverkusen didn’t want to sell me. I don’t want to force myself out, but we’ll see what happens in the summer.”
