Napoli have all but sealed their second acquisition of the January transfer window with Alberto Grassi of Atalanta. However, Andrea Conti and Marco Sportiello could also enter the deal.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and manager Maurizio Sarri will be looking forward to welcoming Alberto Grassi in the coming days. Napoli have been looking for a central midfielder to add to the depth of the squad and they look as though they’ve found the right fit for the club in Grassi.
The deal consists of €8.5m down plus bonuses in the future. Napoli could also be making developments as early as tomorrow according to Sky Sport Italia over agreements in synergy with Atalanta for talented youth players Andrea Conti and Marco Sportiello.
Andrea Conti, who serves as a right full-back for the Bergamaschi, is a talent that Napoli sees as a potential replacement for likely departing Christian Maggio. The veteran has been lacking playing time this year and could look for a move away from the club.
Marco Sportiello, another talented youngster from Atalanta, could be a potential future replacement for an aging Pepe Reina. The Spanish shot-stopper is on the wrong side of 30 years of age and Sportiello would make an excellent replacement for Pepe.
Napoli and Atalanta continue to negotiate on transfer dealings. In the coming days there could be an official announcement made regarding Alberto Grassi, who is more than likely to become a new member of the partenopei.
