Napoli was able to get back into the winning groove after defeating Atalanta 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Following the victory, the Partenopei’s star striker, Gonzalo Higuain who added two more goals to his total in the Serie A, gave a post match interview with Sky Sport.
The Argentine bomber told reporters,:
“It was a very important game, before Christmas and in a very difficult opposing stadium. We are happy because we won a very difficult match. Now there is a break, so we hope to come back even stronger than before. Few teams have played quality matches here (at Atalanta), but we have done it. The result proves that. I am happy for the goals; I am working very hard and I am in a good mental state thanks to our coach, the club, and my teammates. Now we must continue on like this to try to win all the time, together as a team.”
Higuain also had an interview with Mediaset Premium and was asked if the Scudetto is no longer a curse for Napoli.
Higuain responded by saying:
“We think about one game at a time, just like Sarri also said. There is still a lot of time left with five more months of competition. I have never seen a team win the championship in December. We have to stay calm.”
Higuain leads the Serie A with a total of 16 goals.
