The Napoli-Maksimovic transfer saga has been the talk of the Serie A transfer market lately.
Napoli are relentlessly looking for an agreement with Torino to bring Serbian defender, Nikola Maksimovic, in azzurro. According to Alfredo Pedulla, Napoli are hopeful that with the agreement already reached with Maksimovic and his agent, that said agreement could force Torino president Urbano Cairo to agree a fee with the partenopei.
Napoli have reportedly offered upwards of €25million + bonuses however that fee could go up to around €27-€28million + bonuses to fully convince Torino. Cairo has been waiting for Chelsea to make a significant step in the negotiations for Maksimovic due to his poor rapport with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, however with 6 days left of the mercato, Torino cannot run the risk of arriving at September 1st with Maksimovic on the squad. This is because the player has repeatedly asked for a transfer and has made it clear he is unhappy at the club.
Maksimovic also does not have a good relationship with newly appointed boss, Sinisa Mihajlovic. The newly appointed boss has been outspoken about the player’s antics over the past few weeks and it looks as if the player does not have a place in his squad.
