Napoli fell to a very disappointing 2-0 loss at home for the second time against Atalanta this season.
Sarri will not be happy with his team’s performance today after his side’s lackluster performance. Here are his player’s performance ratings from the match:
Pepe Reina (5.5): The two goals conceded weren’t his fault but the defense were the culprits. Other than that, Reina really wasn’t tested much today.
Elseid Hysaj (5): The Albanian was not so great today as he usually is. He had a very tough time creating anything down the right flank and had a few dodgy moments while attacking such as dribbling a ball straight out of bounds for a goal kick.
Raul Albiol (5): Not much to say on Albiol’s part today. The Spaniard seemed to be trying his best but didn’t organize his defense as well as he usually does today.
Nikola Maksimovic (4): One of the big summer signings for Napoli just hasn’t been what fans had expected from him. The Serb made a fatal mistake for Atalanta’s first goal and then had trouble marking Petagna all night long.
Faouzi Ghoulam (6): Ghoulam had to be one of the better Napoli players today. He put in cross after cross yet no one could capitalize on them. The Algerian had a field day down the left flank today.
Piotr Zielinski (4): The Polish midfielder looked one of the worst players on the pitch tonight. Lackluster passing and lacking in defensive prowess from start to finish.
Amadou Diawara (5): The usual veteran performance from the 19-year-old did not come tonight. He made the wrong passes on more than one occasion and just didn’t look very comfortable on the pitch. Disappointing night from Amadou.
Marek Hamsik (3): Certainly the worst performance from the captain all year long. Was horrendous on the ball up until he was rightfully subbed out for Arek Milik. Not an inspiring performance at all from the club legend.
Jose Callejon (4): The Spaniard that is so consistent for Napoli was very poor today. He didn’t seem up for the match and fluffed a massive chance to get Napoli a goal and a chance to get back into the game.
Dries Mertens (4): Even Mertens, a player on fire, was very poor for Napoli today. He got multiple chances to get the Partenopei back into the game and failed every time. Disappointing from arguably Napoli’s best player.
Lorenzo Insigne (6): Insigne was arguably, along with Ghoulam, Napoli’s best player today. He was really the only player that looked like he wanted to win the match. His attitude wasn’t replicated by his teammates.
Arkadiusz Milik (5): Milik had more than enough time to create something but he really didn’t do much when coming on. That could also be due to the lackluster service into him but ultimately it wasn’t meant to be for the Polish international.
Leonardo Pavoletti (N/A): Pavoletti didn’t play long enough to gain a performance rating.
Christian Maggio (N/A): Maggio didn’t play long enough to gain a performance rating.
