Napoli held on for a 3-1 victory away at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi and bounced back from their disappointing loss to Real Madrid.

Sarri’s men had something to prove in this match, they needed to find a way to regain confidence after a tough loss away to Real Madrid, and so they did. A big 3 points were won for the Partenopei away from home. Here is how we rated each Napoli player’s performance from the match:

Pepe Reina (6.5): The Spaniard didn’t have all too much to do in goal today after a fairly dominating performance, but he did come up with a couple of big saves late in the 2nd half to deny a Chievo comeback. There was nothing he could do on Meggiorini’s goal for Chievo.

Elseid Hysaj (6): It wasn’t his best showing, but the talented Albanian still put in a solid performance in defense and attack. His control of the ball is very impressive.

Nikola Maksimovic (7.5): Maksimovic had an excellent game today. However, two moments where he lost his concentration could have let Chievo back in the match if it weren’t for Koulibaly to be there to save him. If it weren’t for those two huge mistakes, Nikola would have easily gotten an 8.5 for today.

Kalidou Koulibaly (5): Really poor from the big man today. Hasn’t been nearly as good as he was before the AFCON. Chievo’s goal had Koulibaly’s whiff written all over it. Napoli will hope he regains his form soon otherwise the defense could be a big problem.

Faouzi Ghoulam (5.5): It was a pretty meh display from Ghoulam today. He wasn’t bad nor was he good. Just extremely average. He was involved in the play leading up to Napoli’s third goal, but other than that he was a ghost.

Allan (6): Allan was having a very decent match before having to come off due to injury. Napoli fans will hope he won’t be out for too long.

Jorginho (6.5): Jorginho seemed to look like his old self today. He kept the ball very well and advanced it at every opportunity.

Marek Hamsik (7): Hamsik had some lovely plays down the left hand side of the midfield today. To cap it all off, he even notched himself a goal to show for it. Bravo, capitano.

Jose Callejon (6): Callejon did a good job down the right flank. He defended when he needed to and advanced the ball down the right flank when he could. A lot of Napoli’s attack today started through him.

Leonardo Pavoletti (6): Pavoletti was also decent today. He fought for every ball and showed great physicality to hold up the ball so that his teammates could run in behind him. It was a shame he couldn’t find a goal to cap it all off.

Lorenzo Insigne (9 MOTM): Easily the man of the match today. Lorenzo did absolutely everything on the pitch. He provided constant cover on defense, he scored a world class goal (as usual) and kept the ball every time he got it.  World Class performance from the boy out of Frattamaggiore.

Arkadiusz Milik (7): What a great substitute performance from Arek Milik. Many weren’t expecting him to do much but with the short time he had, he created 2 massive opportunities for Napoli and was a toe poke away from getting a goal himself.

Piotr Zielinski (7.5): Piotr bounced back from his lackluster performance at Madrid with conviction today. He was very much involved with build-up play throughout the match and was rewarded with a goal of his own.

Emanuele Giaccherini (N/A): Giaccherini didn’t play enough to gain a performance rating.
