Napoli came away 2-0 victors from tonight’s match. Here is how we rated each Napoli players individual performances.

Starters

Pepe Reina (7): Pepe seems to have recovered from his rough start to the season. He was perfect on every cross he came out for despite not needing to do much the entire match.

Christian Maggio (6): In his second start of the season, Maggio has proved to everyone that he can be a reliable back-up to Elseid Hysaj. He was extremely solid and did not let Chievo create much down his wing.

Raul Albiol (5.5): Was caught sleeping a few times and almost caused a goal when Floro Flores ran in behind him. Not a good match from the Spaniard.

Kalidou Koulibaly (8): Incredible match from Koulibaly again today. He continues his string of great performances with his dominating presence today. Little to nothing got past K2.

Faouzi Ghoulam (7): Great match from Faouzi. Ran his socks off the whole night and didn’t stop till the final whistle. Had a field day going forward in joining the attack.

Piotr Zielinski (7): The young Polish midfielder continues his great start to his Napoli career. Napoli fans will hope he can keep up his great form.

Jorginho (6): Wasn’t Jorginho’s best game again today, and he looks very tired. Had lots of passes but did not make his usual killer passes.

Marek Hamsik (9 MOTM): What a match from the captain. He also bagged his 100th goal in a Napoli shirt and is arguably in his best form since Benitez took the helm at Napoli.

Jose Callejon (7.5): Great match all around for Napoli’s most consistent performer. Was on the end of many chances to score but was very unlucky not to.

Manolo Gabbiadini (7): Finally Gabbiagol has found the scoresheet! Besides his excellent goal, he also had a great performance in terms of link-up play.

Lorenzo Insigne (6): Had a decent game but Insigne still hasn’t found the form he had last year where he scored 12 goal. Had many misplaced passes and lost dribbles.

Substitutes

Arkadiusz Milik (6): After coming on for Gabbiadini, Milik was just as dangerous as Manolo was. Was unlucky to find the net on a couple of occasions.

Allan (5.5): Allan has not been in his best form as of late. Had many misplaced passes but as a positive, his work-rate is top class.

Dries Mertens (N/A): Only had 10 minutes to play once he came on therefore he was not involved enough to gain a performance rating.
