Napoli come away with a largely disappointing but at the same time relieving 3-3 draw away at Fiorentina.
After Insigne opened the scoring with an incredible strike, Napoli fell apart had to salvage a point at the death with a penalty from Gabbiadini. Here is how we rated each Napoli player’s individual performances.
Pepe Reina (5.5): The Spaniard could have done better with Bernardeschi’s second goal from distance, however their other two goals were pretty much unstoppable.
Elseid Hysaj (6): A largely average match from Elseid, didn’t offer much going forward but had a solid match defensively.
Raul Albiol (6): Raul could have done better on Bernardeschi’s second goal as he and Maksimovic did not close him down fast enough. Other than that, similarly to Hysaj, Albiol had a solid match.
Vlad Chiriches (6): The Romanian was having a good game before he went down due to injury.
Faouzi Ghoulam (6.5): Ghoulam had a great match going forward. He could have done a bit better defensively but overall, a solid performance from the Algerian.
Piotr Zielinski (6): The Polish international had a stellar first half, but fell off significantly in the second. The second half Piotr was the complete opposite of the first half Piotr.
Amadou Diawara (7): His great run of form continued with this game, where he controlled the ball very well and defended his space. Maybe should have been substituted for Jorginho to stabilize the midfield.
Marek Hamsik (5): Seemed off the pace ever since the second half began. The captain did not play his best neither defensively nor attacking.
Lorenzo Insigne (7.5): He scored one of the best goals of his career and played an exceptional match. Easily Napoli’s best player tonight by miles.
Dries Mertens (6.5): Other than his goal which was a masterful strip from Astori and a beautifully finished ball, he didn’t do too much. He actually had the chance to steal the win but failed to shoot in time.
Jose Callejon (6): It was a very average match from Napoli’s most consistent performer. Usually Firenze brings out the best of Callejon but tonight it didn’t seem that way.
Manolo Gabbiadini (7): The man that seems destined to leave was the savior for Napol tonight, with a beautifully tucked away penalty.
Allan (3): The Brazilian was terrible since the minute he came on. A shadow of the player he was in the Benfica match.
Nikola Maksimovic (3): Like Allan, Maksimovic was nothing more than awful. At least 2 of Fiorentina’s goals were his fault.
