Napoli were held to a highly entertaining, yet frustrating 1-1 draw against the champions at the Stadio San Paolo.

Sarri’s men can come out of this match with their heads held high as they fully dominated a match against the champions of Italy but can also be a bit disappointed after having not taken all 3 points. Now they face an uphill task in trying to gain an automatic UCL spot for next season.

Here are our ratings for each Napoli player’s individual performances:

Starters

Rafael (5): The substitute goalkeeper didn’t have much to do with Juve only amounting to one shot on target. However, with their one shot they scored and the Brazilian could have done a lot better to keep out Khedira’s strike.

Elseid Hysaj (6.5): It seems as though Napoli’s Albanian right full-back has regained his form. He put in a master shift tonight down the right flank defensively and joined the attack throughout the whole 90 minutes. Exceptional.

Raul Albiol (7): Despite being able to do a lot more on the goal conceded, Albiol put in a great performance and kept tranquility in the back line as he usually does. His passing out of the back is very important to Napoli’s system.

Kalidou Koulibaly (7.5): Another wonderful performance from arguably Napoli’s best player overall. He was everywhere in closing down space in Juve’s attack and kept his former teammate, Gonzalo Higuain, completely nonexistent in the match.

Ivan Strinic (7): Strinic shows everyone again how he should be the undisputed starter for Napoli as Ghoulam’s performances have hit a downward spiral. He put in a great shift down the left flank and deserves plaudits for his ability to defend and attack with great efficiency.

Allan (7): The Brazilian was having a great match and gave Napoli that added muscle in the midfield that was desperately needed against an equally strong Juventus midfield with the likes of Khedira and Pjanic. It was a bit controversial that he was taken off and it can be argued it was not needed from Sarri.

Jorginho (7.5): The Italo-Brazilian is finally starting to look like the old Jorginho of last season. He was the only player on the field to complete over 100 passes tonight and kept control in the middle of the park for the partenopei.

Marek Hamsik (7.5): It has been said that the captain hasn’t been showing up on big occasions enough for the Azzurri but tonight he certainly showed up. Not only because of his magnificent goal, but his lung bursting runs through the midfield and his precision passing were what made the difference and what finally got Napoli their deserved tying goal.

Jose Callejon (6.5): The Spaniard put in a decent shift tonight. He had a few chances in the beginning to find the back of the net from Insigne’s diagonal passes however they all came to no avail.  Jose actually found the net in the second half but was correctly waved offside in the process.

Dries Mertens (7): The Belgian had a world class assist to Hamsik for the partenopei’s goal however the little man could have bagged himself 2 goals tonight. Where everything else was precise from Dries tonight, his finishing was certainly not.

Lorenzo Insigne (8.5 MOTM): Not even just the MOTM for Napoli, the little magician was the best on the pitch tonight. He just seems to get better with every passing game and is showing ADL that he deserves his big contract. All that was missing tonight from Il Magnifico was a goal.

Substitutes

Piotr Zielinski (6): After coming on for Allan, the Polish international brought added quality to the midfield and Napoli didn’t lose their control on the midfield when he came in.

Faouzi Ghoulam (N/A): It certainly was not a planned substitution, the Algerian made his appearance due to Strinic going down with a cramp late in the match. Ghoulam did not have much time to have any real impact on the match.

Marko Rog (N/A): The captain made way for up and coming star Marko Rog due to some muscular problems. However, the Croatian starlet did not have much time to make an impact on the match.
