Napoli ran out comfortable winners today after beating Palermo 3-0. Here is how we rated each Napoli player’s performance:
Pepe Reina (7): Pepe really had nothing to do today but when was called upon, he answered perfectly. Very solid from the Spaniard.
Christian Maggio (7.5): Great performance from the veteran wing back. Rarely put a foot wrong in today’s match and defended exceptionally.
Raul Albiol (6): His long range passes were poor today but had a solid enough defensive performance. Albiol was not at his best today.
Kalidou Koulibaly (6.5): Kalidou also struggled today with his passing, however his unusually poor passing was made up for with his exceptional defensive work.
Faouzi Ghoulam (6.5): The Algerian had a good day out on the left flank today for Napoli. Was very solid defensively and as usual was exceptional with his crosses.
Piotr Zielinski (7.5): The Polish international had one hell of a game today. His marauding run to give Callejon his second goal and his incredible pass to find Ghoulam on the left who eventually crossed in for Hamsik’s goal were the difference today. Great game Piotr!
Jorginho (7.5): Another great performance from Jorginho. It is as clear as night and day that when this man is on the pitch, he provides an important amount of tranquillity in this Napoli team.
Marek Hamsik (8.5 MOTM): Incredible stuff from the Captain today. Not only did he surpass Maradona on Napoli’s all time goalscoring chart in the Serie A, he also was perfect today. Every pass was precise and every dribble cut to perfection. Magnificent from Marek.
Jose Callejon (8): One of Napoli’s most consistent players continues to prove why he starts every match for this side. Callejon’s two goals put him atop the Serie A goal tally along with Torino’s Belotti on 4 goals.
Arkadiusz Milik (7): Milik was great with his positional play today. He only lacked his finishing touch.
Lorenzo Insigne (7.5): Great performance from “o scugnizzo” today. Completely shut his critics up with his performance today. Hopefully today’s performance continues for him.
Manolo Gabbiadini (6.5): Created some havoc up top for the opposition. He almost bagged a goal himself.
Dries Mertens (N/A): Dries did not have enough time to make an impact in the game and thus cannot be scored.
Allan (N/A): Along with Mertens, Allan’s substitution came too late to gain a rating for him.
