Napoli picked up three points Saturday night against Milan in a 2-1 win at the Stadio San Siro.
Napoli’s starting goalkeeper Pepe Reina made a couple of saves and closeouts that were key in his team’s victory. Reina spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss Italia after the match.
The Spanish keeper said the partenopei were very mature in the match, which made him happy with the win. Reina expressed that suffering is what the team needs to learn in order to make the next step.
“The team was very mature today,” Reina said. “It’s a victory that makes me very happy. We showed that we also know how to suffer in addition to playing good football. This is the leap in quality that this team must learn. We have to possess continuity in this respect. It doesn’t always happen for us; we’ve lacked a touch of aggressiveness in the past. I am proud of this Napoli, my teammates and the victory.”
Premium asked Reina if he’s wise in the way he conducts himself when playing. Reina said that he just tries to give it his all.
“I do my best on the field beyond the mistakes and the saves,” Reina said. “Then, surely the experience gives you something extra. We now turn to Fiorentina!”
Napoli will face Fiorentina on Tuesday at the Stadio San Paolo in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals. Then, the azzurri will play Palermo at home in Serie A play on Sunday, Jan. 29.
