After Wednesday’s home 2-1 win against a tough Torino side, Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri spoke to Sky Sport immediately following the game’s conclusion.
When asked about Torino manager Ventura’s comments on Napoli’s lack of depth Sarri responded like this:
“He can help by giving us one of his players” followed by a smile, could this mean that heavily linked Torino player Nikola Maksimovic could be moving to the partenopei? This remains to be seen.
On the movements of the midfielders:
“We went for a 3v3 with their defenders, when their wingers drop back they create a back 5 and because of this we wanted to attack them centrally.”
On the build-up to Lorenzo Insigne’s goal:
“Beautiful, take in that goal because if Lorenzo had shot it to the curva no one would remember the play leading up to his beautiful strike.”
On the explanation for his expulsion from the game:
“They told me that I had left the technical area, therefore I was kicked out.”
Finally he was asked about Napoli’s apparent dip in performance late second half:
“I saw it coming, we worked very hard in training the past week so that we could last longer in future games.”
