Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis promised the fans that he would acquire talent with international experience after winning the Coppa Italia. One of the targets is Dutch international Daryl Janmaat, a right-back.
According to Nicolo Schira, Napoli have an agreement in principle with Feyenord for the 24 year-old defenceman. Janmaat had a desire to play in Italy and was rumoured to be interested by Juventus, however nothing ever materialized with the bianconeri so Napoli seized the opportunity.
No numbers have been finalized yet but there is optimism the deal will close and Janmaat will sign a four year contract. If this acquisition goes through one player who will likely be let go is Christian Maggio, who has interest from both Lazio and Inter. Inter would logically be the club most interested as coach Walter Mazzarri has a history with Maggio when he played with Sampdoria.
