Napoli is ready to close the first deal in the January transfer window to strengthen Benitez’s roster.
In fact, the azzurri are a step away from acquiring 23 year-old central defender Nicolas N’Koulou from Olympique Marseille. The Cameroonian is about to accept the offer from Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis, according to Gazzetta.it.
Should this not happen, Napoli’s Sporting Director Riccardo Bigon will likely turn to other transfer targets like Liverpool’s 29-year-old Daniel Agger and/or Arsenal’s 28-year-old Thomas Vermaelen.
N’Koulou has played 25 games in all competitions for Olympique Marseille this season.
