Amin Younes of Ajax has been courted by Napoli for weeks now. It is reported that the German winger already signed a pre-contractual agreement with the Partenopei.
Napoli have been rejected by Simone Verdi of Bologna and have been rejected by Sassuolo for Matteo Politano all in a matter of two days. They have also evaluated the possibilities of Deulofeu and Lucas Moura coming to the Southern-Italian city. However, both players are deemed unsuitable to Sarri’s tactics. The Partenopei are clearly desperate to get a back-up winger in before the transfer window closes.
It seems as though they’ve found their solution in Amin Younes. According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia, Ajax had received an offer from Swansea today for the winger amounting in €10m, despite the player already agreeing to join Napoli at the end of his current contract (expiring June 30th, 2018). Therefore, Napoli would have to act fast to acquire the player at all, given the circumstances.
Fortunately, the will of the player is what seems to be driving Younes towards a move to Napoli. Reportedly, the German only wants a move to the Azzurri, and has formally requested to be transferred immediately, so as to beat out any other team’s offers. That seems to be coming into fruition, as Il Mattino di Napoli report Ajax are willing to part ways with Younes in January, but only at a price of €4m. It still remains to be seen whether Napoli will indeed pay that price.
More developments are expected in the next few hours.
