With the expected contract renewals of Elseid Hysaj and Dries Mertens expected to be completed by this weekend, the Partonopei are set to turn their attention to both Lorenzo and Roberto Insigne.
It is no secret that Lorenzo Insigne is one of the flashiest young players Italy has seen for quite some time. With his contract expiring at the season’s end, the player’s agent has made it known that the two parties have not been on the same terms when it comes to a long-term renewal with the club. The Napoli native has made it known he desires to continue playing for his hometown club despite no advancements in contract negotiations. In addition to a new renewal, it has been reported that the renewal of Lorenzo’s younger brother Roberto should also be a priority for the club. Despite his lack of playing time, renewing the 22-year-old Roberto would make an impact on Lorenzo’s decision and his contract renewal.
Lorenzo has made 131 appearances for the club since joining them in 2009. His brother Roberto, on the other hand, has only made one competitive appearance for Napoli since joining them in 2012.
