Following Napoli’s 3-1 victory over Bologna at the Stadio San Paolo, Lorenzo Insigne spoke to Mediaset Premium.
Insigne spoke about numerous things including teammates Manolo Gabbiadini, Jose Callejon and also where he stands in his contract renewal with the club.
The Italian winger first spoke about the match itself:
“We played a game of sacrifice and suffering, we did well to have the calmness to get back in the lead. We will fight until the end even without Higuain; other players who are very good have arrived.”
Insigne made these comments when asked about what Napoli could achieve this year:
“The championship has only just arrived; we will try to always give our best going as far as possible. Until tomorrow evening we will enjoy first place, but we already have to think about the match on Wednesday. Tomorrow all the others play, but we are happy to have won tonight.”
The media asked Insigne about his connection with Jose Callejon:
“With Callejon we connect well; we play together for four years now and we know where to find each other. We know that one of us is always spreading the defense by looking for the ball in the far side of the pitch.
Then he was asked about Manolo Gabbiadini, who has hit a rough stretch with Napoli:
“He is a forward, surely he always wants to score goals. I tell him to stay calm because he is a great striker and will score.”
Insigne spoke about his contract renewal when the media asked him at which stage he is in the process:
“I am calm, I am trying to give my best for the team and the coach; I am not thinking about the contract. My wish is to stay. We will find a solution with the club, but for the moment I am not thinking about it.”
Napoli play against Genoa in their next Serie A match.
