The MLS club is reportedly keen on bringing the New Jersey native back to his hometown by offering a large contract for the forward.
American news outlets are reporting that New York Red Bulls are willing to put up big money for the Italian international. Reports over the last few days have linked the player with a move to MLS, but the Red Bulls have shown the most interest.
The striker has spoken about the interest stating that he would prefer to continue with Fiorentina, or be loaned to another European club before returning to his hometown. La Viola mentioned in early July that they believe the player has improved during his loan in Spain and wish to keep him at the club.
The 29 year old grew up in New Jersey, before deciding to play for Italy in international play. Rossi joined Fiorentina from Villareal in 2013 for €11.8million.
