The Spaniard goalkeeper has officially completed his move to La Liga side RCD Espanyol.
The Milan backup has been itching for playing time since his recovery from injury, and now he will start in his home country, this time for Espanyol. The former Valencia man leaves the Rossoneri on deadline day, following an official announcement from Espanyol.
Diego Lopez was Milan’s number one goalkeeper until Sinisa Mihajlovic opted for Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 17-year-old never looked back following his debut and has made the starting shirt his own. As a result, the former Real Madrid man found playing time hard to come by and will return to Spain. With Diego Lopez gone, Gabriel will become Donnarumma’s backup between the sticks.
