The Italy U-21 midfielder has signed with Genoa on loan.
Danilo Cataldi was once touted as one of the biggest prospects in Italian football after his meteoric rise through the Lazio ranks. After a regime change and incoming head coach Simone Inzaghi took charge, Cataldi fell out of favor and has since sought a new role elsewhere.
On Friday, Genoa announced the signing of Cataldi on loan via press release.
“The Genoa Cricket and Football Club announces to have acquired from S.S. Lazio, on loan, the sporting rights of midfielder Danilo Cataldi. The player has already undergone his first training sessions under the command of Mr. Juric and has already visited the Istituto Il Baluardo to shortly complete the medical visits. The presentation to the media is scheduled for the second half of next week.”
