Genoa’s starting goalkeeper Mattia Perin is out for the rest of the season.
Tough day for the Genovese against Roma. They lost 1-0 conceding only by an own goal, and Mattia Perin was subbed off in tears.
Now via the club’s official website, the team confirmed the worst.
“The Genoa Cricket and Football Club announces the results of the medical examinations which goalkeeper Mattia Perin underwent. The tests have shown evidence of a torn ACL of the left knee. A surgical operation in the next few days will be carried out by Prof. Mariani.”
Genoa are now 12th in the Serie A table.
This is the second time in as many years where Mattia Perin has suffered a severe knee injury.
