Premier League side Swansea have officially signed Argentina and Napoli defender Federico Fernandez for €10M
The Jacks announced the signing via the club’s official website today, seeing the 25 year old pen a 4 year contract in Wales. The new face voices the swan’s ambitions of obtaining a top half finish this season.
The World Cup finalist replaces the Lekhwiya-bound Chico Flores, who joined former manager Michael Laudrup at the red knights.
The Ex Estudiantes centre back spoke to the official website:
“It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League – it is the best in the world. I asked Michu and Jordi Amat about the club. I obviously trained with Michu at Napoli and while I was on loan at Getafe (in 2013) I played with Alvaro Vazquez. He is very good friends with Jordi, so I’ve spoken to them too. Michu told me it is a family club and the city is very relaxed. He said I was joining a very good club. All I’ve heard are good things about Swansea.”
Federico Fernandez appeared 36 times for Napoli in all competitions last season.
