Palermo have confirmed that the Swedish midfielder will be leaving. The player’s preferred option is Dinamo Kiev, but a deal is yet to be reached.
In the club’s latest press conference, Palermo’s Nicola Salerno (Sport’s Director) admitted that Hiljemark is set to leave Sicily. The Swede, currently Under-21 European champion, is a talented player, as highlighted by his 38 games and 4 goals last season – not too bad of a first impression in the Serie A. In addition, the player impressed for his ductility: he can play as a regista, as an attacking mid and also as a box-to-box midfielder.
This year, Hiljemark inevitably has shone less brightly, certainly due to the team’s overall turbid season. Salerno’s words have, needless to say, sparked the interest of a series of clubs. In Italy, both Torino and Roma have expressed their interest.
Bosnian midfielder Toni Sunjic’s arrival also confirmed the suspicions of a possible Hiljemark departure. Moreover, Salerno, though without mentioning anyone in particular, spoke about the need to sign players who are familiar with the Serie A.
