Super Mario hasn’t had the best of year’s however, Palermo look likely to be willing to give Mario another chance at redemption.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Palermo have been trying to do everything in their power to sign Mario Balotelli on loan from Liverpool. Maurizio Zamparini really wants the Italian striker and is willing to give Super Mario a second chance at redemption after a few bad years for the forward.
The main problem is Mario’s wages. Liverpool currently has Balotelli on €5.8m per season, and insurmountable feat for Palermo to even think of offering Mario. There will need to be an agreement in which Balotelli takes a pay cut to play for the rosanero. Palermo would be willing to offer up as much as €1m to Balotelli to loan him in for the season.
Another obstacle to overcome are Mario’s sponsors. They do not see Serie A as apt as the Premier League in terms of annual revenue from the sponsorships. Palermo are awaiting a response from Balotelli up until tomorrow. The next 24 hours should be decisive in the trek to sign Mario Balotelli on loan from Liverpool.
