Juventus winger Simone Pepe returned to the pitch for the first time since last season against Avellino in the TIM Cup.
He spoke to RaiSport 1 following the game and told reporters that he hopes that this is the end of his injuries.
“We hope that the curse is over, it’s been a long ordeal for over a year and a half. The problem was very serious. It’s been a great Juventus, a squad that has grown increasingly solid, especially with using it’s head [maturity]”.
“Istanbul? The way the defeat came about has left bitterness, on an impractical field and we are still disappointed with it”.
“I’m working hard to regain optimal condition, spending a lot of time working out, I do this because I want to return as a protagonist for Juventus”.
“Champions? We struggled in the first two games and if you don’t win it’s our fault. We have to approach the group stage and do better at the beginning”.
“The World Cup? I’m not thinking about it, my only objective is to work”.
Simone Pepe only played 45 minutes last season and is looking for a way to return back into the starting eleven.
