Cagliari defeated Inter 2-1 at the San Siro Stadium on Sunday afternoon and Inter fans from the Curva Nord unleashed two banners that opposed their captain Mauro Icardi.

Fans in the Curva Nord held up the banners 15 minutes into the match against Cagliari:

“The bastard is you who made up crap to sell more”

“Infamous mercenary”

Inter fans clearly expressed anger towards Icardi for something he did. The reason for the banners may have spawned from something the Argentine wrote in an autobiography.

There is a passage from the autobiography where Icardi explains he threw his jersey to a kid in the stands during a Inter-Sassuolo game. However, one of the “ultra” leaders grabbed the jersey and threw it back at Icardi.

Icardi said in his book that he responded to the ultra, “You’re going to be a bully with a child to be seen by the entire curva? You should just be ashamed of yourself, you should all be ashamed.”

The fans of the curva said that there was no child in the section where Icardi threw the shirt.

Nonetheless, the relationship between the captain and some of the Inter fans seems to be damaged.
