Lazio manager Stefano Pioli held his pre-game press conference at the Centro Sportivo di Formello today on the eve of his team’s game against Genoa.
“What I expect from the team is a great response, we were unable to give continuity to our results. We are determined, I want to see a fighting spirit. We expect an excited atmosphere with many fans. Our next tasks are Genoa and Verona in league play, after that we can think about Europa League.”
“What took place is not good for us or our atmosphere. Do not ask me if the decision made by the referee Wednesday evening was right or wrong. I have my opinion and have always said: in Italy the fans need to return to the stadium, instead everything is being done to prevent this from happening.”
“If you look at the numbers we are behind where we need to be. But now is not the time to continue to dig up the past, we paid a hefty price in November and December.”
“As of right now it is difficult to think about Europe, but until we are not secure, we will continue to race as fast as possible, working to reach the Europa zone.”
