After a nightmare first half Lazio recover to salvage a point away to Bologna.
It was a tale of two halves for Lazio, who had a very Jekyll and Hyde performance on Sunday. Bologna took the lead almost immediately through Emanuele Giaccherini, and then doubled that advantage in the 18th minute on a goal by Mattia Destro.
The second half was a different story. Bologna went down to 10 men and Lazio took advantage. The capital club scored their first goal on a penalty from Antonio Candreva, which provided a spark for the team. Senad Lulic, who came on at half, was responsible for the second goal. Lazio continued to pour on the pressure but had to settle for the draw.
Premium Sport interviewed Stefano Pioli who provided his thoughts about the game.
“We only played in the second half. The team had the right reaction from a character point of view but for us the goal is to play all 90 minutes as we did in the second half.”
On taking out Antonio Candreva:
“It is true that he wanted to stay on the field however I had to take him out to help out the team. It was a decision made keeping in mind the changes made by Donadoni.”
On the mercato:
“January is a complicated month for all of us managers. I do not know if Felipe Anderson will be leaving, all I know is that he works hard to put forth a positive performance for us.”
