Following his side’s controversial loss to Roma, Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo spoke to the media and was livid with the referee and Roma boss Rudi Garcia.
In his post-match interview, Pozzo said,:
“Roma shouldn’t need any help to win. However, the refs have been conditioned. In my opinion, Roma’s coach is acting like a victim in the media and is beginning to get results because of it. Upon his arrival Garcia always behaved. Now, however, he’s starting to act like a smart Italian. There is always psychological conditioning that refs could have towards big teams like Roma. Then you have their coaches who act like him and it just adds to it. It would be nice if they started to act more professionally and stay in their place because we must have a calm championship. We are talking about good referees but with the effect of the media and the conditioning by coaches, it gets the better of even the best of them.”
