Newly-appointed Valencia boss Cesare Prandelli was asked to talk about Mario Balotelli’s chances of returning to the national team.
In his interview with Sky Sports, Prandelli spoke about the former Liverpool man. He said:
“I’ve always been convinced that in terms of natural talent and potential, Balotelli is one of the best in the world. He has to understand what he wants to do with his career and understand if he wants to get better. He has to train every day at high intensity and with the right levels of concentration. He has to go onto the pitch thinking he’s just another one of the eleven players and with the mentality to score goals for his teammates. In this case, he will automatically be loved, respected and helped by his teammates because the current perception of him is that he has different ideas about his profession. It depends on him if he returns to the national team.”
Prandelli previously coached Balotelli at the international level and is arguably the manager to have gotten the most out of Supermario since 2012. Now, without Prandelli on Italy’s sidelines, Balotelli finds himself on the outskirts of the national team.
