Following Napoli’s group-clinching victory against Benfica, Partenopei goalkeeper Pepe Reina spoke to Premium Sport regarding his team’s performance and the squad’s mentality heading into the round of 16:

In the first half we were strongly determined to play our game and impose our football. We were aware that this was a very difficult stadium. I had played here many times and never won. We remained faithful to our style, regardless of what the result was in Kiev. We came here to win.”

“To us this is a business. A great satisfaction to be among the best 16 teams in Europe. Now we must climb up in the league to get back to the top. There are times where we didn’t win, but the performance was positive.”

“Opponents? All of them will be difficult. We have a lot of respect for all the teams that advance, but we don’t fear them. I would like to play against a Spanish team, but that will be hard. Or against Bayern Munich because of my time there. Whichever one turns out will be very difficult.”

Napoli topped Group B meaning they could avoid some major European powerhouses.
