According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma striker Edin Dzeko has verbally agreed to join Premier League champions Chelsea this month for a fee believed to be in the region of 50 million euros.
The former Manchester City striker would be joined in South London by Emerson Palmieri who Antonio Conte has been chasing recently, trying to find a suitable wing back to suit his system following his failed pursuit of Alex Sandro.
Whilst it still remains that Chelsea and Roma are yet to agree a fee for the Bosnian and the Brazilian-born defender, it looks increasingly likely that ‘the Blues’ will strike an agreement with the Giallorossi within the next few days.
The Di Marzio report also suggests that the Capital club may also try and include Michy Batshuayi in the deal seeing as his Chelsea career looks dead in the water – but that remains to be seen as of yet.
What also remains unclear is the future of current Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso. Surely the former Fiorentina man isn’t too keen on sitting on the bench if Emerson arrives?
