Roma managed to perform a sporting miracle as the Giallorossi overturned a 4-1 first-leg defeat to beat Barcelona 3-0 and reach the Champions League Semi-Final for the first time since 1984.
Here are the Roma player ratings
Alisson (7): Didn’t really have anything to do but was quick off of his line to cut-out Barcelona attacks and commanded the defence in front of him.
Federico Fazio (8): An outstanding performance at the back from Fazio who despite picking-up a yellow card and was lucky to stay on the pitch, was extremely important for the Giallorossi tonight.
Kostas Manolas (9): The Greek International performed like a Greek God for the Lupi tonight. Manolas pocketed Luis Suarez and didn’t allow Lionel Messi to have any influence on the game. To top off his performance he scored a wonderful header to make it 3-0 to Roma and all but confirm their appearance in the Semi-Finals.
Juan Jesus (8): Went about his business quietly and helped Manolas and Fazio to shut out Barcelona.
Alessandro Florenzi (8): The Italian International was a menace as a right wing-back tonight and had Jordi Alba on strings with his bombing runs forward. Florenzi’s crossing was dangerous and his defensive contribution was equally as good.
Kevin Strootman (8): Strootman helped Roma in winning the midfield battle and his defensive contribution meant that Sergio Busquets had no influence on the game.
Daniele De Rossi (10): The best player on the pitch alongside Edin Džeko, De Rossi rolled back the years and reminded us why he is one of the greatest holding midfielders of all time. The Roma Captain pulled the strings in the Roma midfield tonight as he provided an assist for Džeko’s opener and his through ball to Džeko resulted in Roma winning a penalty that De Rossi himself scored. The World Cup Winner also kept Lionel Messi quiet. A world-class performance
Radja Nainggolan (9): The Belgian Internationals showed why he is one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the world as he ran his socks off and cut-out every Barcelona attack, his physicality in the middle of the park was too much for Ivan Rakitić.
Aleksandr Kolarov (9): One of the signings of the season, Kolarov bombed up and down the pitch non-stop and his crossing allowed Roma to push forward. A night to remember for the Serbian International.
Patrik Schick (7): An encouraging performance for the young Czech International who caused problems for the Barcelona defence with his running and aerial ability.
Edin Džeko (10): A perfect 10 for Džeko. The big Bosnian was unreal tonight and the centre-back pairing of Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti could not handle Džeko’s physicality and hold-up play. The former Manchester City forward scored Roma’s opener after five minutes as he beautifully controlled a De Rossi over-the-top ball and knocked it past Marc Ander Ter Stegen. In the second-half, Džeko won a penalty for La Magica as he was hacked down by Pique. A glorious performance by Džeko.
Cengiz Ünder (7): Despite only being on the pitch for 20 minutes the young Turkish International was full of energy and was a superb substitution by Di Francesco as his non-stop running forced Barcelona into mistakes. Under also whipped in a superb corner that Manolas headed in to make it 3-0 to Roma.
Stephan El Shaarawy (6): Got involved as much as he could have done and was unlucky not to score as Ter-Stegen performed a superb save on his late effort.
