With the January transfer window set to open, both Roma and Genoa are looking to add players to their team to help achieve their respective objectives.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Walter Sabatini has already contacted Milan over the availability of Stephan El Shaarawy. The Italy international is set to return to Milan following his loan stint at Monaco as he didn’t make enough appearances to trigger the automatic buy-out clause. With the sale of Juan Iturbe to Bournemouth, Rudi Garcia’s side are said to be in the market for another winger and view Il Faraone as the ideal target.
Another player who appears to be on his way out from his current club is Giuseppe Rossi. Di Marzio reports that Genoa and Fiorentina have already began talking about a potential transfer. The Fiorentina forward hasn’t gotten much playing time due to the emergence of Nikola Kalinic and is keen on a move away. One way the grifoni may sign Rossi is by selling Diego Perotti. The Argentine has no shortage of suitors and may be sold in the January transfer window.
While the numbers and finer details of the transactions are yet to be defined, these are the two likeliest destinations for El Shaarawy and Rossi.
Rossi has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season with five coming off the bench and scored two goals in the process. El Shaarawy, on the other hand, has made 21 appearances in all competitions, ten of which came from the bench, scoring two goals and registering one assist.
